Kira Zeider
Graduate Student
Kira graduated from the University of Arizona in 2020 with bachelor's degrees in chemical engineering and environmental engineering. During this time, she interned with Freeport-McMoRan in Morenci, Arizona to optimize their dust suppression techniques. She is now pursuing her doctorate in chemical engineering under Dr. Armin Sorooshian and Dr. Mónica Ramírez-Andreotta. Additionally, she is part of the Superfund Research Center Training Core. Her current projects with the Center for Environmentally Sustainable Mining are to determine the impacts of regional haze and mining emissions on local communities and to evaluate a potential low-cost contaminant measuring technique that can be easily implemented in any community.
