Tomasz Wlodarczyk
Assistant Director of Research Programs
My goal is to strengthen connections between academia and the mining industry and to expand industry engagement. My focus is on integrating interdisciplinary research frameworks that combine field ecology, plant ecophysiology, mine restoration, phytoremediation, and remote sensing. My research interests center on advancing phytomining in the U.S. by leveraging native plant species that (hyper)accumulate metal(loids) in mining-affected ecosystems. I integrate plant, soil, herbarium, and remote sensing data to study metal(loid) tolerance, accumulation, and stress adaptation across laboratory and ecosystem scales.
